A scene from ‘Museum Hill’ (taken this past fall), one of the post-agricultural meadows (technically an inland sandplain grassland) at Norcross.

The soil here is very sandy and low in nutrients, terrible for farming but great for native plants! We love these thin-soiled sites as they tend to be lower maintenance than richer sites and are great wildlife habitat!
