Join us to explore one of the largest stream and freshwater wetland restoration projects in Massachusetts.
The Vinica Brook Restoration Project will:
Remove outdated dams and culverts
Reconnect 10+ miles of stream habitat
Restore 300+ acres of wetlands
Enhance 1,600+ acres of riparian and upland habitat
Despite being a cold water fishery and BioMap Core Habitat, Vinica Brook is currently impacted by aging dams that degrade water quality, block wildlife movement, and reduce flood resilience.
Learn how science-driven restoration is:
Improving ecosystem health
Supportingfish and wildlife
Increasing climate resilience
Led by Norcross Wildlife Foundation in partnership with Mass Audubon, MassWildlife, American Rivers, and UMass Amherst.
