The joys of spring are here! Tree buds are emerging; flowers are blooming; a variety of insects, birds, and other creatures are returning to enrich our beautiful natural ecosystems. This year, we are excited to celebrate this vibrant season through art. 

We are delighted to announce our inaugural Spring Awakening art contest. This initiative is open to the public, offering an opportunity to connect with our community while enjoying various artistic creations. Participants ages 11+ are welcome and encouraged to participate in the corresponding category. 

 The winners will receive a prize and will also be featured at our Open House event on June 14!

When?
Accepting submissions April 18 through May 24, 2025 in celebration of our trails opening for the 2025 season! Beginning this year, the public trails will be open daily from dawn to dusk for the first time!  

Submission deadline: 11:59 p.m. on May 24th, 2025. If your artwork is not in a digital format (for example, physical drawings and paintings), please make sure to take a good-quality photo and upload it.  

How?
To participate in the contest, please submit up to five images of your artwork here using one of the acceptable formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, PDF, HEIC.

Theme and type of art?
Contestants are encouraged to create art inspired by spring, which can be interpreted broadly. All types of artistic work are welcome, including but not limited to: drawings, paintings, photographs, digital art, sculptures, or other physical artistic creations. Be inventive! 

 Your artistic work can have been completed at any time; it does not have to be completed specifically for this contest. We only ask that it has been  CREATED ENTIRELY BY YOU!  

 Winners and Prizes
We will collect all contestant artwork and allow public voting on our website and social media pages, inviting people from both inside and outside the community to participate in voting. This way, we aim to gather a variety of perspectives and achieve more impartial results. The voting will open on May 24th, 2025, and run through June 12, 2025.  

We will select one winner per category and announce them on June 12, 2025 via our website and social media. Winners will also be contacted via email. 

Winners will receive a prize (to be announced at a later date) and have their artwork exhibited at our Open House event on June 14, 2025.
